Entertainment technology is actively present in museums. Visitors have responded enthusiastically to interactive exhibits and have come to expect them as part of the museum experience.

Curators have voiced that the entertainment technology offers flexibility and new solutions in reference to introducing complex ideas and processes. Technology involves the incorporation of more senses and stimulates greater interest. It provides a variety of viewpoints, engages visitors, and encourages audience interaction (especially with younger spectators).

Technologically enhanced exhibits are changing the physical character of museums. They are being instilled with specialty theaters, sound systems, audio effects, multiscreen shows, 3D and 4D theaters, etc.

Visitors enjoy using interactive exhibits and digital technologies have made a home in twenty-first century museums. The technology is massively appealing to younger audiences. Curators find that times have changed and the older, static version of displays has evolved to fit the times.

The age of computers has changed the landscape of existence and the younger generation expects to learn differently than generations of the past. The rest of us have become acclimated to new trends, but there is no need to go backwards, but only forwards.
