Challenges/Solutions
The Isle of Capri Coventry project consisted of a casino wide distributed audio video integration and nightclub audio system.

The distributed visual interactive systems presented challenges due to the many different display applications required. ETI was to deliver third party content to a large number of plasmas, projectors and TFT screens to different areas within the casino all of which would have specific functions as well as general content display. To meet this challenge ETI utilized an extensive AMX system as its control head end in conjunction with a a large Auto Patch switcher to control all video routing. Cost being a major factor in the design requirements ETI specified all video to be run over CAT 5 network cable in conjunction with video baluns in order to minimize both materials and labor costs associated with standard video cabling. This approach allowed ETI to simplify the installation and reduce the time required for testing and commissioning which was a big factor given the compressed time frame caused by construction delays.

In selecting the AMX control system ETI was able to offer maximum flexibility to the client by using small remote touch projection screens throughout the facility that allowed each area to have control over the basic audio visual entertainment technology functions needed. By standardizing the hardware in these areas ETI reduced training and commissioning requirements for the client.
