Challenges/Solutions
The Isle of Capri Coventry project consisted of a main marquee media presentation.
Perhaps the biggest challenge for the project was the WOW Feature area. The WOW feature is the first thing guests see before they enter the gaming floor of the facility. Guests descend the main escalator from the reception area and are greeted by a multi media, visual interactive systems experience showcasing the Isle of Capri brand and experience. Guests walk upon a glass floor with water flowing underneath flanked by a lit water wall and two projection theatre features. One projection features consisted of a 10’ x 60’ blended image projected onto a 120 degree curved surface. The second video feature was a 25 x 25 foot single image framed in by lighting and decorative foliage.
All of the projector units are housed within a architectural structure in the ceiling of the WOW area. The edge blending, geometry correction and content delivery for the video features was accomplished by utilizing four servers running Watchout software and all linked via Ethernet control and integrated into the AMX control chain for show automation. Watchout in turn sends out SMPTE to remote racks triggering various lighting equipment thereby integrating the entire show experience. In utilizing the Watchout product ETI was able to correct for difficult projection positions and allow for exceptional edge blending and control of the WOW show which cycles 12 different content pieces throughout the day.
